Paté Americana
Ingredients
- 2 lb ground beef
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbs Worcestershire sauce
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1½ tsp dry mustard
- ½ tsp white pepper
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp tabasco sauce
- 1 C Italian breadcrumbs (Progresso)
- ¾ C milk
- ketchup
Directions
- Combine salt, pepper, mustard, garlic powder, and onion powder, add Worcestershire sauce, tabasco
sauce, and eggs and mix well.
- Add beef and incorporate fully. Alternate milk and breadcrumbs until each is fully incorporated.
- Form meat mixture into a loaf and place in a buttered 9x13" cake pan. This makes for a shallow meat loaf that I cut like brownies. It exposes the maximum surface area for the ketchup that is applied in the next step.
- Put ketchup on top per personal preference and bake uncovered at 400°. Remove when the internal temperature registers 160° F (~30 minutes).
