French Toast

  1. Combine the eggs, half-and-half or heavy cream and cinnamon in a bowl and whip thoroughly.
  2. Add the bread pieces to the bowl and coat on both sides completely. If the pieces are stale or day-old, you may wish to soak them a little while longer.
  3. Heat the butter in a sauté pan over medium high heat until bubbly.
  4. Add the soaked bread pieces and brown on both sides, approximately 3 minutes per side.
  5. Remove, slice diagonally, and serve topped with cinnamon and sugar, 10x confectioner's sugar, maple syrup, whipped cream, marmalade, or fresh fruits.
