French Toast
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbs half-and-half
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 4 pieces white bread
- 2 tbs butter
Directions
- Combine the eggs, half-and-half or heavy cream and cinnamon in a bowl and whip thoroughly.
- Add the bread pieces to the bowl and coat on both sides completely. If the pieces are stale or day-old, you may wish to soak them a little while longer.
- Heat the butter in a sauté pan over medium high heat until bubbly.
- Add the soaked bread pieces and brown on both sides, approximately 3 minutes per side.
- Remove, slice diagonally, and serve topped with cinnamon and sugar, 10x confectioner's sugar, maple syrup, whipped cream, marmalade, or fresh fruits.
