Creole Tomato Sauce
Ingredients
- 2 tbs oil
- 4 oz onions, small dice
- 4 oz celery, small dice
- 2 oz green bell pepper, small dice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 qt Tomato sauce
- 1 bay leaf
- pinch dried thyme leaves
- Cajun seasoning to taste
Directions
- Sauté the vegetables in the oil until the onions are translucent.
- Add the tomato sauce, bay leaf, thyme, and Creole seasoning and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat immediately and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove the bay leaf and adjust the seasonings.
