Blackened Tilapia

  1. Preheat a cast iron skillet over medium/high heat.
  2. Use a paper towel to blot the Tilapia filets dry.
  3. Juice the lime and brush both sides of the filet with a splash of avocado oil and the lime juice
  4. Dip both sides of the Tilapia into the blackened seasoning to thoroughly coat.
  5. Add avocado oil to the hot skillet and swirl to coat the pan.
  6. Add the Tilapia and cook for 5 minutes per side.
  7. The blackened seasoning will form a dark crust on the filets. Filets are done when it is opaque and flakes easily or internal temp is 145°F
  8. Serve with lime wedges and garnish with cilantro.
