Stir-Fried Bean Sprouts (v)
Ingredients
- 1 lb bean sprouts
- 2 green onions
- 3 slices ginger
- ¼ Knorr chicken bouillon cube
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 2 tbs oyster sauce
- 3 tbs peanut oil
Directions
- Wash bean sprouts thoroughly three times - they usually need more than one washing.
- Cut green onions into ½" slices and ginger into ¼" slices and set aside.
- Heat wok until very hot and smoking. Add peanut oil and heat until very hot and smoking.
- Add the ginger and fry for about 30 seconds, making sure that it does not burn. Add the bean spouts and green onions and fry until the bean sprouts are translucent, about five minutes, stirring constantly.
- Halfway through the cooking process, add the Knorr chicken bouillon cube and the soy sauce and continue cooking and stirring.
- When the sprouts are about done, add the oyster sauce and stir until well combined. Remove sprouts to a serving dish and serve immediately.
Chef's Notes
- This can be made vegan by substituting ½ tsp Better Than Bouillon vegetable stock base for the Knorr chicken bouillon cube and vegetarian mushroom oyster sauce for the oyster sauce
