BBQ Tofu
Ingredients
- 14 oz extra-firm tofu
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 3 tbs cornstarch
- ½ C vegetable oil
- 1 C barbecue sauce
Directions
- Press the tofu between paper towels with a weighted item on top for 15 minutes. This is to release the water
- Cut the pressed tofu into 1-inch cubes
- Place the tofu on a large plate and add the salt, pepper, and cornstarch on top. Mix together with your hands or tongs
- Add oil into a frying pan and heat it to medium-high heat
- Fry the tofu for 12 minutes, turning it over so each side is cooked for 2 minutes
- Once evenly-fried, place the tofu into a serving dish and pour the barbecue sauce over the top. Make sure each piece of tofu is coated

- This is a vegetarian recipe - if the BBQ sauce is vegan-friendly, this can become a vegan recipe
